AQHA WORLD SHOW Move In: Nov. 6-9
Each year members of the OSU Horseman's Association volunteer with the "Horsepitality" move-in at the AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City. Students help exhibitors unload their horses and tack, set up stalls and haul equipment. Our goal and the goal of AQHA is to help exhibitors have a fun, stress-free time at the World Show. If you are interested in helping with move-in, talk to Dr. Cooper in 109 ANSI.
AQHA WORLD SHOW Check-in Staff: Nov 6-17
AQHA is also offering paid positions for students checking health papers at the entrance gates for the AQHA World Show. If you are interested in one of these positions, you must sign up in 201 ANSI and attend a mandatory meeting on Nov. 5th.
AQHA WORLD SHOW Field Trip: Nov 12
The OSU Horseman's Association will be taking a field trip to the AQHA World Show on Wednesday, Nov. 12th. We will have time to go through the trade show before finals start. We will also be walking through the barns and talking to trainers. Finals that night will be amateur reining, heading and heeling. Transportation is provided for anyone interested in going. Our van will be leaving the Animal Science Arena at 4pm on Wednesday. Please send us an e-mail if you are interesting in going.
Special Olympics: Nov 15
Each year Horseman's provides volunteers to put on the Stillwater Special Olympics. We will be expecting 50-60 special needs kids who will be competing on horseback in several events. We need volunteers to lead horses and "spot" the kids to make sure they stay safe. The event will be on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Payne County Fairgrounds (East Hwy 51) from 8am to 4pm. Lunch will be provided by Texas Roadhouse. If you are interested in volunteering for Special Olympics, please e-mail us.
